Some say that a broad road of communication is the way of love. I’ve
come to learn that the broad road is exciting, fun, challenging and
stimulating. I’ve participated in wide open debates and stripped naked
topics of scandal many times. Last year when Bill Ritchie told me..
“You should make this a private forum.” I was totally blind to his
wisdom. Why would I want to shut out people? What am I trying to hide?
Am I afraid of the content?

I see things a little differently, after 1 year of blogging and 1/4
million hits. The warriors who swing their swords, wear their helmets
and cover their vitals are fine. But when a child stumbles onto the
field, there is damage. When people take direct offense at our careless
allusions… alluding accusations that we have never brought verbally, or
in person, there is damage. These things have weighed on my conscience
over things that I’ve written, and other smp guys. I don’t expect
everyone to feel the way I do. I’ve only been thinking this way for a
couple months now.

When there was opposition on my blog that is rude and disrespectful,
I assume a sense of responsibility. Sure, I didn’t say it, but I
provided the forum. Those words of accusation that are thrown so
casually at leaders in my movement, are in print for all to see, on my
blog.

I want to do more than just "talk about the issues".  I want to see action.
I want to strive for ways and methods that will make me a better servant.
I want to look at my specific fellowship, and the organization that I'm a part of,
and see how God can continue to be glorified in it. I don't want to talk about
problems or issues, unless I can also be part of the solution.
There are many forums for "talking".  I don't want to discount those forums.
But, I don't want to be that kind of a forum anymore.  This is why we have set
up guidelines for those who participate here.  The process needs to be streamlined.
The participants need to be specific in their calling.  The innocent need to be protected.
The warriors need to be armed and prepared to win the battle.
